BEAR LAKE PARK
The Beti Bike Bash is hosted at the fantastic Bear Lake Park in Lakewood, Colorado. It serves as the perfect venue for our event with a fun network of trails and a great pavilion for the start/finish and expo area.
Racers, we have paid your entry fee, so when you enter the park, let them know you are a Beti Bash racer and they will wave you through. There is only one entrance to the park.
After you enter the park, make an immediate right at the stop sign. Follow signs to Pelican Point. Parking will be at the venue and at the Horse Arena. Please follow volunteers instructions.
EXPO
The EXPO area will feature many of our fantastic sponsors. Post race sustenance provided. We are encouraging everyone to carpool to the event. We are also asking everyone to lessen the impact to the park as it recovers.

Beti Bike Bash
FROM FIRST TIMERS TO SEASONED PROS, WE HAVE A PLACE FOR YOU.
Mountain Bike Racing is traditionally very male dominated. One of the missions of the Beti Bike Bash is to CHANGE that by providing a welcoming, encouraging, and challenging environment to open the door of possibility and get more women and junior girls on bikes and participating in events all over the country. Any person who identifies as female is welcome to sign-up.

CATEGORIES
WHICH CATEGORY SHOULD I ENTER??
Maybe this is your billionth race and you’re a seasoned vet, maybe you rode a bike without training wheels for the first time last week. Our mission is to accommodate everyone! We have a number of race categories to choose from so you can be riding with athletes of a similar level.
The best part about bikes is support and camaraderie. Please sign up for the category that you think you belong in—there’s no point in “sandbagging” just to win a race. If you have any questions about where you belong, please don’t hesitate to send us an email!
[NOTE: Your race age is your age on the day of the event.]
Never Ever
If you are a true beginner racer, new to the sport of mountain bike racing, never raced our event or any other MTB event then this is the category for you. NO race experience necessary, however we do recommend you are comfortable on twisty, loose singletrack. 8 miles may take finishers ~40 minutes to just over 1 hour. You can only race this category once, so if you’ve previously raced “Never Ever,” please upgrade to Beginner or Sport. If this is your first ever race, you are not required to race Never Ever, you absolutely can still race Beginner, Sport or Expert.
Race Distance: 8.9 miles, 635 ft of climbing
[Important: If you have never raced before, BUT you want to race the longer distance or have been mountain biking for a while, you do NOT have to race Never Ever. You are welcome in any category and distance you feel comfortable in.]
beginner
You have raced once or three times, maybe you race our event every year and know what racing 8 miles is like. This is also the place for you if you feel confident about your mountain bike skills (been riding for a few years) but this is your first time racing. May take finishers ~45 minutes to over an hour.
Race Distance: 9.8 miles, 635 ft of climbing
new mom
We know so many of you are off the bike during your pregnancy and many more months after. We still want you to participate and be a part of this special day. While we aren’t checking dates on birth certificates, if you have a little one at home under the age of 18 months, this is your category! If you’ve looked at your dusty mountain bike in your garage and wondered when you are going to get back out, this is your chance! Get on the start line with the other hard-working, sleep-deprived moms and be cheered on by your husbands, wives, other moms, grandparents, and kiddos! Same distance as the Beginner and Never Ever racers.
Race Distance: 9.8 miles, 635 ft of climbing
sport / singlespeed
Typically our most popular category. You have raced a few times, you might be on a race team. You are also at home in this category if you feel like you are rocking some fitness and want to push yourself for the longer event. You are confident that 12 miles can be ridden non-stop and enjoy a good challenge from a shorter mile race. First-time racers are still welcome in this category. Race times of ~50 minutes to 1:20.
Race Distance: 11.3 miles 951 ft of climbing
[JUNIOR trail rippers are more than welcome to sign up for this race!]
bitty beti (Girls 8-12)
We are in a NEW location at the park this year (2024) and we are working with Little Bellas to finalize the course.
Race Distance: Approximately 1.4 miles (1 lap) or 2.8 miles (2 laps)
If your rider is new to riding/racing and is 12 and under this is a great introduction to the thrill or racing. We don’t mind if parents or supporters are out on course with the riders.
If your daughter can handle the adults course she is more than welcome to race in the 14 and Under category.

REFUNDS
Please plan accordingly; we do not offer refunds. We have EVENT cancellation insurance if the event is canceled in an instance out of our control, such as fires, terrorism, or other environmental disasters. This does not include pandemics. We offer RIDER insurance during registration (for an additional fee) to cover the individual if you have an injury, conflict, etc. Rider insurance also does not include pandemics.
CANCELLATIONS
Due to the enormous amount of work and planning that goes into the preparation for this event, there are no refunds. If you don’t race and are unable to transfer your registration, you can take your fee as a tax deductible donation to our non-profit partner, Team Evergreen. Please contact us if you need a receipt. If the race is rescheduled due to weather, or, you know, a pandemic, we will modify the cancellation policy.
TRANSFERS
We will transfer your registration to another racer for $10. Any fees you wish to recoup are between you and your replacement. All transfers are for the current year—there are no transfers to future years.
